One aspect of being a leader is courage. When Moses died, Joshua took over his role as leader. Joshua now had to lead the people across the Jordan to the land G-d was giving them. Joshua was probably scared and had no idea what was going to happen but G-d promised him he would be ok. "'Chazak ! Be strong! For you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their fathers to give them." Joshua 1:6 G-d noticed that he needed courage and gave him wisdom and guidance to lead the people. When faced with tough situations we should always remember to have courage and know G-d is with us at all times.
Integrity also plays a big role in leadership, honesty is a characteristic most leaders should have. "At this time the supervisors and satraps tried to find ground for a charge against Daniel regarding the kingdom. But they were unable to find fault or corruption, because he was trustworthy and no negligence or dishonesty could be found in him. Finally these men said, “We’re not going to find any basis for charges against this man Daniel, unless we find something against him regarding the law of his God.” Daniel 6:5-6 When king Darius wanted to set Daniel above all his presidents and princes they tried to find something they could accuse him of but could find nothing because he was an honest man. So challenge yourself to show integrity in what you do during the day, every day. As you do, you'll become a leader whom others will want to follow.
